The Montparnasse Tower dominates the whole 14th district with its mighty height of 210 metres. Well known as the artists district, Montparnasse was frequently visited by many major artists of the 20th Century, such as Picasso, Soutine, Foujita, Modigliani, Braque, Man Ray... From this rich past, Montparnasse has thus conserved artist workshops, famous cafés and infamous brasseries, such as the Closerie des Lilas or the Dôme. This Parisian distrct boasts important cultural settings with several points of interest including a lot of green spaces such as the Panoramic Observatory of the Montparnasse Tower, the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens, the Parc Montsouris, the Montparnasse cemetery, the key entrance into the Catacombes, the Bourdelle Museum, the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art, and many more.

 

 

BUCOLIC ROAD

Villa Royale Montsouris is located in a calm area surrounded by beautiful green spaces. The Parc Montsouris, just a few minutes walk from the hotel, is one of the largest green spaces in Paris. It is located in the 14th arrondissement, between rue d'Alésia and the Cité Universitaire de Paris student accommodation. The park's proximity to the Cité Universitaire makes it a favourite walking spot for students. It comprises a lake, beautiful statues, remarkable trees suc as Chinese parasol tree, Diospros kaki or Japanese persimmon tree and hosts many different species of birds. A little further in the 6th arrondissement, on the border between Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Latin Quarter, the Luxembourg Gardens, which cover 25 hectares of land, are split into French gardens and English gardens. Between the two, lies a geometric forest and a large pond. There is also an orchard, an apiary for you to learn about bee-keeping and greenhouses with a collection of wonderful orchids and a rose garden. A must-see destination in you want to take some fresh air in the heart of Paris.

The district of Montparnasse is famous for these legendary Brasseries where the artistic and political Paris used to gather. Today, after a slack period, these establishments have made some changes to modernize eand seduce new generations. Thus, nowadays Boulevard du Montparnasse has become one of the new favorite food hotspot of the French capital.
